my first was a rtf zmr 250 with 12amp simon k"s running 6 inch props and a naze rev 6…..it blew up first take off lol ,,never got an rtf ever again ,still got the frame and the old 2204 motors it came with lol

James Oliver says:

It is so funny to see how fast this hobby moves.. I bought those emax motors like a year ago and I’m just now getting around to sticking them in a build and they are already considered ancient and featured in videos like this LOL.. I actually feel a little silly right now haha

curtisnstacey says:

what!!!! you would have been the man if you would have took that bad boy out and flew. dam, could have recorded from the goggles.

Jonathan Kelting says:

OOOOOh yeah… I remember getting airplane ESC's haha

Jeremy Holaday says:

My first frames were pvc pipe construction, I upgraded to simplecopter wooden frames. Everything was extremely large compared to today. You had constant oscillations with the old push button programming KK2.1 boards. The batteries where pretty sucky and you didn't get great flight times. But we were glad to be flying, I was only flying LOS in those days because like Stew said the FPV gears was outrageously expensive. Funny thing is, I still fly my v-tail and tri-copter simplecopters with original equipment.

Jeremy Holaday says:

I lost count of how many of those esc's I caught on fire by over amping them. Ha

Jeremy Holaday says:

Ha, Stew, the good ole days. Simonk esc's and KK2.1 boards.

GoatZilla says:

Heh you can tell about what time you started the hobby. Baseflight actually was a fork of MultiWII.

Nici619 says:

Pls install a F4 FC with a new bf version and make a test flight video

OldSchool FPV says:

Heh! I kept a ZMR, CC3d, 12A Simonk escs, board cam, etc, just to look at. And I still have a ton of 6" HQProps… maybe I'll make some artzy thing from them? Thanks for the memories!

jdarkis says:

Stew – I'm still flying/upgrading a 2yr old ZMR. Was really hoping for some test track footage!

I'm contemplating running mine on 4S until it dies so I have an excuse to build something new.

Fraser Steen says:

Stick a go pro on it and fly it. Do a part 2 review with Trev and Cal
